Ready-to-use under-tile water protection system (SPEC) for interior walls and floors.

Benefits

  • Effective barrier against water infiltration.
  • Treatment of singular points.
  • Ready to use.
  • Easy application by brush or roller.

DESTINATIONS

Working area

E 100 XP is a Water Protection System under Tiles (SPEC) intended for the protection of substrates sensitive to water such as: the walls of damp rooms (kitchens, bathrooms, showers, sanitary and technical rooms, etc.) and floors without siphon classified E2 P3 at most, as well as private shower rooms or bathrooms, showers and WCs on wood or wood-based supports. E 100 XP can be used on interior walls and floors in new construction and renovation under hard protection such as glued tiling or the like. Refer to the UPEC classification of the premises (CSTB notebook n°3567 of March 2019).

Admissible media

  • On the ground : Concrete slab, cement screed, P3 smoothing coating, calcium sulphate-based screed (anhydrite), dry screed, CTB-H, CTB-X and OSB 3 wooden panels, old tiling, old semi-flexible slabs, old paint member.
  • On the wall : waterproof or non-waterproof plasterboard, waterproof or non-waterproof plasterboard, terracotta tile, cellular concrete, cement coating, fiber cement board, plaster base coating

IMPLEMENTATION

Substrate preparation

  • Substrates must always be sound, dry (without rising damp), dust-free, clean and free of grease.
  • The moisture content of the substrates must be less than 4.5% (calcium sulphate-based screed: the moisture content must be less than 0.5%).
  • Rough and rough substrates must be evened out.
  • Before applying the membrane, it may be necessary to regulate the porosity of highly absorbent substrates (cellular concrete, standard coatings or plaster tiles, terracotta tiles, etc.) using a primer consisting of two volumes of E 100 XP for a volume of water. On calcium sulphate-based screed, apply a coat of primer
  • PRIMASOL R with a roller (approx. 150 g/m²) then leave to dry for 2 hours.
  • On old substrates (tiles, semi-flexible slabs, paint), check the adhesion of the existing coating. If necessary, scrape off flaking paint, re-glue tiles or slabs that sound hollow.

Implementation

  • E 100 XP is ready to use. Re-homogenize the product before application. Reinforcement of singular points (vertical and horizontal angles, stabilized cracks, wall crossings, etc.) is carried out using the reinforcement strip ARDATOILE EPDM 10 ML Or ARDATOILE EPDM 50 ML Or ARDATOILE 120 Or ARDATOILE 500 ; CORNER JOINT RETURNING AR 12 And EXTERNAL CORNER JOINT AS 12 pasted in E 100 XP using a trowel – see Technical Advice.
  • The application of E 100 XP on common surfaces is carried out using a medium-pile woolen roller in two crossed layers of 400 g/m² each. The 2nd layer is applied perpendicularly to the 1st layer as soon as the latter has dried (the dry film must have a thickness of approximately 0.5 mm).
  • Tiling is done with A 200 Comfort Or MC 200 Worksite Or MC 210 Plus Or MC 300 Flex Or MC 310 Flex HPS Or MC 320 Flex Light Or MC 340 Flex Duo Premium, directly on the membrane 12 hours after application of the 2nd coat at least.
  • Make the tile joints 24 hours later with J 100 End Seal Or J 125 Wide Gasket Or J 150 Gasket Rustic Or J 175 Flex Seal Or J 200 HRC seal Or J 300 Epocolor .

Consumption

  • ± 400 g/m²/coat i.e. 800 g/m² for 0.5 mm average dry film thickness.
